Weekly Shopping List for 2010-09-05

Meat

  • 4 4 ozs fillets of halibut, sea bass, or cod
  • 4 boneless pork loin chops , about 6 ounces each
  • 1 black forst ham , thinly sliced
  • 2 anchovies in salt, or 4 anchovies in oil, drained
  • 4 ozs ground beef, veal or pork
  • 4 1/4 inch thick slice of rump, bottom round, or top round steak (4 to 5 oz each)
  • 1/4 cups finely chopped Prosciutto, dry salami, or hot or mild dry coppa
  • 4 lb chickens , cut into 8-10 pieces and skinned
  • 1 lb Boca Burger patties, broken up

Pantry

  • 1 bottle of vegetable oil
  • 1 jar of hot sauce

Dairy & Poultry

  • 1 tub of crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
  • 3 larges eggs
  • 1 medium sized tub of plain yogurt
  • 1 box of unsalted butter
  • 4 tbsps (2 oz) sweet butter
  • 8 cheeses slices (Gruyere)
  • 1 extra-large egg
  • 1 tub or grate from block of grated Parmesan cheese

 

Seasoning, Spices & Herbs

  • 1 container of Kosher of Sea salt
  • 1 jar of turmeric
  • 2 -inch pieces cinnamon stick
  • 1 medium bunch of fresh cilantro

  • 1 small bunch fresh parsley

Baking Goods & Grains

  • 1 lb pearl barley
  • 4 italian bread rolls crusty
  • 4 X 10 inch flour or corn tortillas
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs from day-old bread
  • 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs, may use panko
  • 1 lb flat pasta such as tagliatelle or lasagnette
  • 1 soft polenta, buttered noodles, pasta or risotto for serving
