Weekly Shopping List for 2010-05-23

Meat:
  • 4 pork chops , 1-inch thick (bone-in or bonless)
  • 12 ounces Black Pig Bacon, cut into thin strips

Produce:
  • 4 garlic bulbs
  • 1 lb asparagus
  • 1 green pepper
  • 2 red peppers
  • 6 carrots
  • 1 lb Rancho Gordo Heirloom Red Beans
  • 6 celery ribs
  • 1 bunch of baby spinach 
  • 5 ounces baby spinach (8 packed cups)
  • 3 medium onion
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 red onion
  • 3/4 lbs sugar snap peas
  • 2 inches of fresh ginger
  • 4 portobello mushroom caps (1 1/2 lbs.)
  • 4 red peppers from jar
  • 1/2 cups finely chopped shallot or onion
  • 2 larges leeks
  • 1 lemon

 

Pantry:

  • 1/2 cups dry white wine or vermouth
  • 2 /3 cups balsamic vinegar
  • 3 tbsps Dijon mustard
  • 5 cups low sodium chicken or vegetable broth/stock, divided
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 cups Arborio rice
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons tomato past
  • 1/3 cups fat-free chicken broth
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsps Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tbsps Olive oil
  • 8 cups chicken stock or vegetarian stock
  • 3 tablespoons of oil cured black olives, pitted and coarsely chopped
  • 2 tbsps flour

 

Dairy & Poultry:
  • 6 oz.s smoked or fresh mozzarella
  • 1/2 pounds smoked mozzarella
  • 1 cup lowfat milk
  • 1 box of unsalted butter
  • 1 shaved Machego cheese

Seasoning & Herbs:
  • 1 small bunch of fresh sage
  • 1 grinder filled with black peppercorns
  • 1 container of Sea or Kosher Salt
  • 3 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 1 bottle of chili flakes
  • 1 fresh tarragon sprig for garnish, optional
  • 1 bottle of dried thyme
  • 1 small bunch of tarragon

Baked Goods & Grains:
  • 1 pound store bought pizza dough, thawed if frozen
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cornmeal
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • 4 kaiser rolls
  • 12 ozs , mixture of penne, shells and fusilli (or all one pasta)
